Preserve Your Relationship With God

I think the verses speak for themselves.

Avoid what keeps you away from Him and part of that means that a Christian must not instigate or engage in these things. Behaving this way costs you your relationship with God; this is not His way.

We are called to be imitators of Christ, to be peace makers, to love one another (friends, foes, and everyone in-between). Being Christian is not about getting one’s points across, about being right (and everybody else’s wrong), or about “who’s best”. It is about following Christ, walking in his footsteps, and serving God – as he did.

Preserve your relationship with God at all cost. Let nothing and no one stand in the way of Him and you.

Before and After Rebirth

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Before I died…

  • I was in pain
  • I was miserable, made the wrong decisions and lived to suffer the consequences
  • I was looking for blessings in life from the wrong people, always
  • I was living a lie, a fictitious, embellished, fake life so it would not be as sorrowful as I felt it was

The day I died…

  • I was able to let go of my prior days and ways
  • I was able to see past my own pain
  • I was able to stare someone else’s pain in the face and see past their anger
  • I was able to endure pain with grace
  • I was able to face reality with humbleness
  • I submitted to Him

The day I was born again…

  • I was able to feel compassion for a suffering fellow human being
  • I was able to understand that I live for others, always… that I live to serve God by letting him operate through me
  • I was able to forgive, to endure the look of contempt and disgust in someone else’s eyes and still love that person
  • I was able to understand that the centre of human life is God, there is nothing else but Him
  • I realized that there is no greater comfort than being in the presence of God
